Building employee commitment and increasing skills with a train-the-trainer program
Problem:
An internal information technology department split off from its parent organization to become an independent consulting firm. New processes and reporting structures were being launched as part of the transformation.
TEAMsmarts solution:
Working with the firm, TEAMsmarts identified the 2 core changes employees faced – the new processes themselves and the new roles being assumed. Since management wanted to deliver the training themselves to show their commitment to the organizational changes, TEAMsmarts created a train-the-trainer program, complete with facilitators’ guides, training slides, and participant workbooks.
Results:
- 60% participation rate within the organization
- 88% overall participant satisfaction with training
- Second training phase requested for the remainder of the organization
